Trevor Berry Looking for Wing Opportunity

By Kyle Larson

Anderson, Ind. (Feb. 20, 2013) - 2012 Spartan Sprints and Top Speed Modifieds Champion Trevor Berry enjoyed tremendous success last season and is looking for a big opportunity in the upcoming season. Berry would like to continue his progression with getting a ride in winged sprint cars. He is interested in racing with MSR Xtreme Sprints, Auto Value Super Sprints and HOSS.

“I am currently looking for a ride in 2013 in any of the three Midwest series. My family sacrifices a lot to allow me to race, but they have taken me as far as they can. Some help is needed to keep moving up. I've been able to adapt to every type of racecar I've been in and hopefully will get the opportunity to drive a winged sprint car this season.”

Sponsors currently on board include Linton Media Ink, Extreme Indoor Kart Racing and Davis Racing Equipment

Berry drove for Tommy Fedewa in his first season at Spartan Speedway that led to six feature victories, championship while also grabbing rookie of the year honors in 2012. He had a one year deal with Fedewa to pilot his wingless sprint car at the Michigan short track.

“It was an exciting year for me and my family. I've always dreamed of racing 410 sprint cars, when Tommy Fedewa asked about driving his other car I was overwhelmed with emotions. Then to go out and have the season we had, I am still at lost for words. To race with and finish ahead of the top flight drivers like JoJo Helberg, Ryan Litt, Jeff Bloom and Tommy Fedewa will be something that I will cherish forever,” added Berry.

Berry has an impressive resume in his short racing career. The 20-year-old competitor began his racing at age 10 starting in the Quarter Midget ranks. In four years he amassed four championships, visited the winner’s circle over 50 times and was selected as Mid Michigan Racing Association Driver of the Year twice. In 2005, Berry also made seven starts in Bandelros scoring three wins including the KOIL Nationals at Kentucky Motor Speedway.

After some success in quarter midgets, Berry continued his climb up the motorsports ladder with then spending three seasons in the mini sprints. He produced 20 victories while gaining valuable experience at tracks in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.

The 2011 season moved Berry to Modifieds where he continued his strong showings this time with two feature wins and seven fast times.

Last season was a career year for Berry and would be a dream for many drivers as he scored championships in the Spartan Sprints and Top Speed Modifieds. In the combined series, his stats included 23 Starts, 19 top fives, 21 Top 10's and seven wins.

“Going in to 2012 the goal was to finish races and gain experience and to end up with six wins, be named rookie of the year and win the championship at Spartan was an amazing feeling. Also to have the year we had in the modified racing and claiming the Top Speed Modified Championship was unbelievable.”
